A to Z Challenge
Theme: Creativity Toolbox
G = Goals
Goals are essential to any creative endeavor. Goals can help us complete our creative endeavors, or help us see them more clearly.
Even if the goal is simply to enjoy, it is a good goal.
I've found that a combination of goals works best for me: goals for completing specific projects, with mini-step goals, and goals that are just for pure enjoyment days.
Do you use goals for your writing or your creative endeavors?
Creativity/Writing Exercise: Make a goal, or a series of step-goals.
Sorry about the short post today. I'm posting by the seat of my pants as my family packs up around me. We are headed home after an amazing ski/snowboard vacation in Whistler, B.C. - one of our favorite places away from home. Today, with sore muscles and rested minds, we are ready to drive back to "real" life and tackle our daily goals with new vigor.
And many thanks to Alex J. Cavanaugh for the sweet shout out today at his blog!!! Alex is a huge blessing in the blog world, so check out his blog if you haven't already at Alex J. Cavanaugh
Have a Happy, Blessed Easter!!!

Everyone needs a goal. Glad you reminded us to set them.
I try, but I'm easily swayed by other thing I need to do. Sounds like you had a great vacation. Have a happy Easter.
It's true, goals are so important, and if I don't set them, I don't get anything done!

We need goals in all areas of our life!
And you are most welcome, Tyrean - thank you for your kind words.
Safe trip home and have a Blessed Easter.
I came over via Alex's blog. I also have to break goals up into categories. For a big project it's the only way. Nice to meet you!
Here from Alex's blog. Great post. I set goals all the time-goals for the day (some of them with step by step), goals for the week, the month and sometimes the year. I love setting goals.
Happy Easter :)
Setting goals helps us keep on track for where we are heading. I do seem to get sidetracked on my goals a lot. : ) You do have to also be flexible because goals may change after they are set.
Visiting from Alex's blog. We both picked goals for today's post.
Yes, I do use goals to keep me motivated and focusing in the right direction.
I like the idea of having goals just for fun some days.
And I love British Columbia. So beautiful. Hope you had a great spring break there!
Stopping over via Alex. Happy Easter to you too! :)
I'm glad Alex featured your blog!
Have a blessed time with your family.
I totally agree with you! I also have different specific goals, which keep me motivated.
Hi - hope you're having a lovely weekend. Just popped over from Alex's and am excited to be your 200th follower :)
I reached a goal this week, getting my first kindle book up, but I need a new one as I'm already feeling at a loose end not knowing what is next!

I should make goals. It would make more sense then muddling through now. Good advice,
HMG
I wasn't all that good at setting goals until K.T. Hanna put together the #writemotivation tweeps. It started with January 2012, making monthly goals, adjusting as needed then doing your best, keeping yourself accountable with weekly updates on Mondays. I combined that with my Birth of a Novel updates on Mondays and have been making wonderful progress. Setting monthly goals has been wonderful.
Many, many thanks to all of you who stopped by today . . .I got home to unpack, grocery shop, and Easter shop, and now the dogs and cat are demanding attention so . . .I will try to visit tomorrow early on . . .Happy Easter!
I have goals for almost everything in my life except my writing. I should have goals in that area as well. Thanks for the reminder!
BLessings, Joanne

I've found that setting concrete goals for myself is absolutely the best way of making sure I accomplish things and not just fritter away my life on Twitter or video games.
Never use goals when writing poetry! I simply write what comes!
Having structure in my life is something that I am finally starting to have. I've never been a very consistent person thus a reflection of my life; that has changed a great deal!
It finally feels good to have structure. Uncertainty has always kept me from having any long term goals- however, if I desire to achieve something - I go for it! and I achieve it!
