Underrated Treasures Blogfest

Everyone has a favorite movie or band that no one else has ever heard about. For whatever reason, they remain undiscovered and underrated. Now is your chance to tell the world about this obscure treasure!

On Monday, September 22, post about your favorite unknown –

MOVIE – BAND/ARTIST – TV SHOW – BOOK

Post about one or all four – dealer’s choice!

Hosted by Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh!

My choices (I'm trying to keep them short):

Movie: Zoom - humor, super heroes, redemption, and Tim Allen, who needs more than that? IMDB

Band/Artist: Symmetry, an up and coming band whose lead singer grew up in my church. They've toured the UK, some of the USA, and been featured at an awards show. One of the guitarists is legally blind.

 chur

TV Show . . . um, I don't think it's unknown but how about Leverage?

Book: (tough choice x 1000 so I went with an oldie):

Green Dolphin Street by Elizabeth Goudge - according to Amazon it's a tale of the colonization of New Zealand by the British, but for me, it is a beloved book from my grandma Pearl, read first at her house and then many times afterwards. The three main characters: Marianne, Marguerite, and William, suffer hardship and heartbreak but find out what it means to truly love and be loved in the midst of an adventurous life. It's beautifully written, and includes a cranky parrot and a pirate-like sea captain for comic relief.

Spoiler alert: one character becomes a nun - but by the time you get there in the book, it works.

Do you have any underrated treasures to share?

Good luck to Symmetry - Long may they rock! :) Haven't heard of your other offerings either, but I like Tim Allen so might have to look up Zoom! X

I've seen Zoom. I've heard of Leverage, but only know of it from Commercial previews. I've never watched the show. Thanks for sharing your picks for the Underrated Treasures Blogfest.

Zoom is good! I've only watched a few Leverage episodes and it is a good one. The band and the book you chose... I need to see what they are all about!

Did you know the lead singer then?

I really like Tim Allen so will have to check out Zoom. Another fantastic less known one he did is Galaxy Quest. It's so funny.

Love your personal connection to the band. Pretty cool! Can't say I'd heard of either the film or show, but I have heard many good things about Goudge's books. Thanks for the introductions.

This is hilarious...I am literally watching the season 2 finale of Leverage as I go through blogs. And I LOVE this show. I can't believe I hadn't seen it before.

And Zoon -- YES! I love that movie. It's one of my bad day, need a pick me up kind of movies. Awesome. (P.S. I love your choices so much I am now following your blog).

An adventurous story where one character becomes a nun, plus a cranky parrot for comic relief? Green Dolphin Street sounds like a little gem!

It definitely is! :)

Leverage is a terrific show! It's one me and my husband enjoyed watching together.

Or, maybe you get out more because you aren't sitting at home reading books, watching movies, and listening to music. :)
