#writemotivation goals and Celebrate the Small Things

#writemotivation goals check-in:

1. Revise ten chapters of Champion in Flight. - Went back to the first chapter and fixed a huge problem that slowed me down in the revision of the last half of the book . . . chuckling with glee now. :)

2. Finish critique of friend's novel. - so close, but not yet. Finished the critique of a student's novella.

3. Bike 80 miles by the end of the month. - um, no progress. Sick with sinus/ear yuck, finally better.

4. Complete Write 1 Sub 1 challenge. - um, yikes! haven't subbed. However, I did get another big writing project done.

5. Drink 4+ glasses of water each day. - On the sick days, I went over this, but yesterday . . . no.

6. Jump in some puddles. - had the opportunity two days ago, but didn't take it. :(

7. Ski, laugh, and have fun with journal writing. - yes (today not last Friday), laugh (every day), and journaling (off and on)

Celebrate the Small Things with Viklit:
1. New snow in the mountains, Valentine's Day ski date (with family, snowboard and ski students, and lots of snow enthusiasts - but we can share the love, right?)
2. One chapter progress on writing book, huge problem solved in Champion in Flight revision, choice of title for third Champion book. (tbr another day)
3. And this . . .

Light Reflections is a collage of everyday poetry, reflecting on life moments. Light-hearted poems on the taste of pulpy lemonade and the pleasures of reading a library book mix with more serious subjects including faith, loss, and compost. These poems walk through the seasons of the year, reflecting light off clouds, snow, rain, and water. as well as the inner spaces of thought. Previously published titles include: "March Snow Hare," "My Mother's Compost," "As the Leaves Fall," and "Breaking the Stillness."

I too fixed the first chapter of my book, its reads much better now. Why just 4+ glasses, shouldn't it be around 8 (minimum) in a day.

Oh wow, that sounds like the best way to spend Valentine's Day! I'm jealous :)

Next week will be better. Enjoy your ski day!

I love your line, "chucking with glee". We all need to do more of that.

Oh heck - that would have been better if I'd spelled chuckling correctly.

I think you're allowed to not bike 80 miles if you've been sick.

Me? I have no excuse for not getting up and just walking around the house more >_<.

Ahh...a Valentine snow day, sounds fun. And what a relief to solve a chapter problem isn't it?

Rachna - fixing a plot issue in chapter one can really help the rest of the book! And although I need 8 glasses, I find that number a bit daunting, so I'm starting with something smaller. I don't count herbal teas or any other drinks in that count . .

Laura - no need to be jealous. It rained an icy cold rain on us all day.

Alex - thanks for your positive encouragement!

LD - I have typos all the time on the web. It just happens. :)

Catherina - yes, and yes! Thanks for stopping by!

Yay for snow days! Except when they keep the kids home from school. ;) Hope you're having a great weekend.

Congratulations on the release of your collection, Tyrean -- and good luck with your W1S1 this month. I got mine out early only because it was flash-sized, and I've got some final novel edits to work through. Onward and upward, right?

Congrats on fixing that first chapter problem, and so exciting about the poetry collection release! Sorry to hear you had been sick, though--that's never fun!

Perhaps I should add drinking more water to my list of goals. Everyone's always on me about how soda just isn't the same. ;-) Good news on solving the Champion in Flight problem. And here's to satisfying results from Light Reflections!

Finding time for goals and making them happen is harder than it wuold seem. I've been setting some for myself and it has been harder to get them done than I thought it would.
Good job for getting some of yours done, I hope you're feeling better.

Water is a good one! Helps you think. Good luck for the rest of the month.

I think your focusing on the small things should be top priority, especially when you're sick! Hope you are feeling better and can tackle those goals head on from here on out!
