HAPPY LATE THANKSGIVING!
Thank you, fellow writers, for all of your encouragement!
Thank you, Misha and Beth, for hosting this hop!
I'm keeping this short today. My last post was a wee bit long.
My main November goals were:
1. - Thanksgiving - as an attitude and a holiday - Yes!
2. Exercise and Health - Hmm. Some. Lost my walking logbook, and had to guestimate.
Miles walked: at least 30
3. NaNoWriMo - 32,870 words - I'm way behind schedule, and I had to write three essay responses to questions about homeschooling for my daughter's college applications today. Why did we homeschool? 638 word response. What methods of evaluation were used: 235 word response. What classes were taken outside of the home? 427 word response. I have three more due by the first.
Update on NaNoWriMo - I squeezed through the finish line on Wednesday, just at 50, 102 words!
My December Goals Are:
1. Christmas Cheer!
2. Walk 50+ miles.
3. Yoga x 20 days of the month.
4. Write/Revise 25,000 words.
For Black Friday and Always:
Champion in the Darkness is free everywhere.
I have a bunch of short e-story books set free at Smashwords.
How are your goals tracking this month?
I started tracking my miles walked about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Is it a goal? Nah, just a statistics addict.
ReplyDeleteYour goal for December is pretty ambitious - 25,000 words. I never set my goals in word counts because I don't think I'll ever achieve them. Do book reviews count? Or articles I write for my newspaper? Or blog posts? Maybe with all of them... but I doubt I'll ever do 25,000 in one month anyway. Good luck with your goal.
ReplyDeleteCW - statistics can be energizing!
ReplyDeleteOlga - Thanks! I started setting ambitious word count goals because they keep me typing foward. Sometimes I include my word counts on book reviews, articles, and blog posts, and sometimes I don't. I would guess that you probably write around 15,000 to 25,000 words a month already if you are writing reviews, articles, blog posts, and stories.
Good job on the walking mileage. Thanksgiving and Christmas Cheer are fantastic goals. Good luck with the rest of NaNo. I think I'm at about the same word count as you, but I haven't even had time to look at it for a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteAnnalisa - Way to go with Nano! I'm finding it tough to keep working on during the holiday weekend - we have a second Thanksgiving celebration on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteReally impressed by everything you've managed to accomplish this November, even though you feel behind when it comes to NaNo. (So many words!) Best of luck with all your goals for December!
ReplyDeleteNearly done with NaNo, it's a pity my main story only got to 30k or so though ;)
ReplyDeleteDo you have an iPhone? If you take it with you as you walk, it logs your miles automatically. I didn't even set it up to do that and when I logged into the Health app, the miles were there. I have a Fitbit, so I mostly use that, but occasionally when my battery on my Fitbit has died, I've looked at my phone to get the miles off so I could log them into the Fitbit app manually.
ReplyDeleteYou can't have too much Christmas cheer, but wow, that's a lot of yoga! ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with those December goals, and I wish you heaps of Christmas Cheer! Glad you had such a nice Thanksgiving. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are rocking goals! My main goal is always to enjoy the holidays and not sweat all the work that comes with it:)
ReplyDeleteMy goals are going great. Hope you find that Christmas cheer.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck winning at NaNoWriMo! I have to count the words I didn’t get to type the last few days. Kick some writing butt!
ReplyDeleteYour December goals look good. I need to walk more and hope to do so in December. Another goal is to get organized and to also finish two stories I've been working on way too long.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to you.
That's some pretty epic progress. I keep reading about how people are disappointed with their NaNo progress and I just have to smile. How many of those words would most people have written if not for NaNo?
ReplyDeleteWhew! 50 miles in December? I'm cheering you on.
Hopefully we can both hit our walking and health goals. I've been so busy, I've let mine slide a bit.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you all so much! I have to admit my brain went total "nano" the last few days and I missed all of these wonderfully, encouraging comments. I walked today, but yoga . . .it's the first day and I'm already behind.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Crystal - I'm with you on your thoughts about NaNo. Even if I haven't finished by the skin of my teeth (why do we say that? must ask Jeff Chapman), I would have still had far more progress on any novel than I've had all year.
Diane - I'll cheer you on, too!
Nice going! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. :-)
ReplyDeleteMostly, I achieved writing goals, but some money came in too, which is good.
I agree, Thanksgiving as an attitude - that works all year round. Hope you're enjoying your December so far! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome goals. All the best with all of your goals!
ReplyDeleteAwesome goals! You're doing well. :) I hope to finish off a novella this month and enjoy some relaxation with the family over the holidays.
