Indie Author Land Interview and Goals for 2014
Indie Author Land is a great site for authors and readers! I have an interview there, live today!
My goals for 2014 are too vast to put here. I counted up 101 resolutions in my journal on the first. I'm dreaming big, and small too, with a dash of fun here and there.
Some samples of my goals are:
1. Finish Champion in Flight, get it proofread, copy-edited, and get it out there! (hoping for March)
2. Write Champion #3, a book on essay writing for high school homeschoolers, Captain Wrath, and more. (maybe more)
3. Write 3 pages in my journal every day, 1 poem a day, and 1 flash or short story a week. (See the Write1Sub1 banner on the side!)
4. Blog wisely - which means shorter posts, less often at this point. Love bloggie buddies, but I need more time.
5. Live life the fullest.
6. Try a different marketing strategy each month.
7. Jump in puddles.
8. Ski.
9. Bike the STP (Seattle To Portland 204 mile ride in July) with my husband.
10. Follow a Bible-in-one-year reading plan with my family. (I'm usually reading through it at an odd, individual pace)
11. Pray intentionally, when I can, and with full trust in the Lord's provision (that's especially for those days when my prayers are of the "Lord, help" variety).
12. Love in a big, active way.
13. More Hugs. More Smiles. More encouragement for others.
What are your goals?
Please check out my interview at Indie Author Land!
Just hope the skiing and puddle jumping aren't at the same time.
ReplyDeleteBlog wisely and don't blog angry.
Will check out your interview!
And sorry, I tried to leave a comment, but I don't have any of the four accounts they require. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all of your goals, esp the bike ride! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm doing W1S1, too - the monthly version though. See you over there!
You have a lot of great goals. Last year I resolved to follow a Bible reading plan that allows you to read the full Catholic Bible plus the Catholic Catechism in one year. I didn't finish in a year, but I was blessed enough by what I did do to keep it going this year.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lot of benefits from pursuing your goals this year. God bless you.
Alex - I'm hoping I don't ski and puddle jump at the same time too - although our family favorite ski area doesn't have enough snow this year so we might be combining the two.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for trying to leave comments . . . sorry that they don't have the right link ups.
Madeline - See you over at WISI!!!
Nissa - thanks for your wonderful, grace-filled comment. I'm already behind on the reading plan! So, I just need to do as much as I can, and let God take care of the rest. :)
Jumping in puddles is an awesome goal! I love all of these, though, good luck with them.
ReplyDeleteAnnalisa - thanks!
ReplyDeleteJump in puddles while dancing in the rain!
ReplyDeleteFantastic Goals!
ReplyDeleteLiving life to the fullest while jumping in puddles and loving in a big way would definitely make me hug and smile more <3
Running over to the interview!
I'm doing Write1Sub1 and Write Despite - you reminded me to post the little button. As for personal goals, I'm paying it forward as a way of life and going back to the healthy lifestyle I had before I got remarried (and dragging my husband there with me).
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a lot of goals for 2014. Good luck with all of them! I can't help but be intrigued by the one about trying new marketing strategies every month...
ReplyDeleteL. Diane - yes!
ReplyDeleteSK - something we all need!
Tonja - good health is a great thing!
Heather - Yes, way too many, but I'm trying to make it fun and keep some of them simple. And the new marketing strategies just mean new to me, or new places to try to market - like Indie Author Land, or sending an e-mail to a bookstore owner, or offering a writer's workshop at a school - those kinds of things.
LOVE these goals! I can't imagine writing down over 100 of them, you go girl! My goal is to be more truthful this year about my beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, even being more honest with myself.
ReplyDelete"If you shoot for the stars and hit the moon, it's OK. But you've got to shoot for something. A lot of people don't even shoot." Confucius.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of goals!
Wishing you a happy, peaceful and prosperous 2014.

Great interview, Tyrean -- tried to leave a comment over there but couldn't. And solid goals, to boot! I hope 2014 is an awesome one for you.
ReplyDeleteMilo - Thanks! I'm not sure about the comment issues - I thought that people could comment, but then . . . ah well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Hope 2014 I awesome for you too!
Great goals! I'm trying to blog wisely this year too. I want to try to be easier on myself since I pushed myself hard last year. Have a great new year!

ReplyDeletePublishing your new book is a goal that makes me happy. I want to go on another adventure with Clara.
ReplyDeleteSkiing wuold be a fun goal. Dangerous, but fun. (I'm planning on going with some friends this year soon, snowboarding though, but I've skiied and liked it.)
I hope you have a great new year!!!
