“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” by Marcel Proust
2. a vivid, imaginative conception
Vivid vision is an essential part of writing, and creative thinking.
Our vision of the world, shaped by our world view, and made even brighter with our vivid imaginations can be the source of many creative endeavors.
Creativity Toolbox Exercise: Take a look at the world around you with new eyes, then close your eyes and take a vivid visionary voyage of creativity.

I gotta wear shades" - Timbuk3
BTW - I had a pic for this post, but my pc and blogger seem to be having an argument and I can't seem to paste pictures or even see pictures on my blog at the moment.
I love this word. As artists, vision is everything. Not only to see literally, but to see from our heart, the seat of passion.
ReplyDeleteLuana - love the way you put that - "from our heart, the seat of passion."
ReplyDeleteOoh great post!
ReplyDeleteAnd boo on blogger with the pictures - i had that once, and of course it was on a day where i had a lot of pics to post
Imagination and creativity are such wonderful gifts from God!

Rah for vision and visionaries! Definitely creativity is something writers must have, and we can be the ones who introduce others to new ways of thinking. :)
ReplyDeleteSo many people went with Voice today, but I think Vision is a great word for writers. You have to see that creative, imaginative place first before your voice can bring the story to life.
ReplyDeleteNice post. Now I've got that song in my head. I think I'll have to go give it a listen. : )
ReplyDeleteLove the quotes, Tyrean! :) Writing is such a process of letting go. Even for creative types, it's crazy how much the mind resists pushing beyond what we see, hear, touch, smell and taste in the real world.
ReplyDeleteThe first weekend in May, I promise to do just that!
ReplyDeleteGood one!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to take a moment and absorb all the sensations reaching you; it's surprising what you can notice if you're focusing. :)

The Eagle's Aerial Perspective
To imagine something is the first step to everything. Our minds are amazing and a little frightening at times, I think.
ReplyDeleteVision and creativity--definitely things I admire in others' writing!

Vivid vision is essential for creating a scene. You have to see everything around your characters. Mind you, I'd like new eyes after all this blog travelling. Blog on!
