Super Short Goals Update

August Goals
1. Finish Eclipse or get within 10% of finish line. - Nope.

2. Cheer daughters and their team at Nationals in Clermont, Florida. YES!

3. Marketing via hootsuite. Not much.

4. Scrapbook project. 40%

5. Encourage others. Um, maybe?

6. Practice Storytelling. Nope.

7. Prep for school year. Not as much as needed.

8. Get outside, walk, bike, kayak. (Fewer carbs, again) - again, not as much as needed.

9. Continue Bible study and reading Cling to God. - most days.

10. House and yard - as much as I'm able to do so. Umm, I think the grass is brown, but the blackberries are ripe and plentiful.

11. Try not to bawl my eyes out for the entire return trip after helping my oldest daughter move in at Montana State University. - Driving home today. Probably crying. It was a tough move-in for all of us.

September Goals
Repeat #1,3-10 with greater success. Make SMART goals within each category.
Send encouraging notes, texts, and phone calls to my college daughter.
Cheer on my youngest at Olympic Hopes Regatta 2017 in Racice, Czechia.

Go ahead and cry! Change can be hard. Your daughter will do great, though, and so will the rest of you. :)

Good luck on those September goals! (I can't believe it's almost September already...yikes!)

You have to cry a little.

You didn't finish Eclipse, but did you see it?

You guys get to travel all over the place! ^_^

I keep saying I need to make monthly goals so I can make sure I'm actually doing what I'm supposed to be doing. But I did fill out my planner last night, so I feel a lot less chaotic.

Best wishes on your goals!! Get 'em! ^_^

As a non-parent I can only imagine how that would have been, letting your daughter go like that. Of course she will always be your baby :)

While it is difficult to see our children in different settings, not with us, we have to realize that the stepping away from us is a part of the growth process. (Been there, done that. One child, at least three steps away from us.) it can be difficult but it helps them grow into the person God wants them to become.

I hope everything went smoothly for you and that your daughter will be happy there. :-)

Awww. Yes, seeing your children go off to University is a big heart-wrenching moment. She'll be back soon. Good luck with your goals for September.

Oh, we definitely cried a lot, and we still are now and then. It's tough not doing life together with her every day, but I know my daughter is getting out and doing new things, and that's good.

As far as the travel goes ... the reason we can afford to do it is ... well, we scrimp on other things and we have some household projects that have been put off indefinitely.

Looks like you've had a big month family-wise. I'm happily a long way from waving my kids off to college, and can't imagine how tough it must be. Hugs!

Crying about your daughter's new adventure is understandable. The move to college from home is a huge shift for everyone. Passing the tissue your way.

Well, with such a BIG change happening in August, I can see how a few things might have needed to be put off a little.

What a month! I get all teary-eyed thinking about the day when my son will finally move out for college or work. And he's only seven! *LOL* You have lots of shoulders here for you. :)

August is always crazy. At least you've written them down. Sometimes I write my goals down and look at them so many times, they blend in with the paper they're written on. :)

Yay for blackberries and your daughters!!!
Looks like August was a tough month. It tends to have that effect.

At least you have goals to work towards. First kid growin gup and moving along is hard. The rest get easier. Still, it is a crying moment.

Blackberries are a sweet,, healthy snack. Feel good about eating your feelings with them, lol.
