Amazing Writers and Updates: Cathrina Constantine, M Pax, Milo James Fowler, and Hero Lost Cover Reveal!

Please note that this post was pre-scheduled and I have been ill (see the bottom lines for more details).
However, I am still excited about all of this news!

Cathrina Constantine has a new book coming soon! Her cover reveal was Friday, but hey - sometimes there's more blog traffic on Monday! :)

Peace demonstrations, sit-ins, and burning the U.S. flag following the escalation of the Vietnam War are leading to a catalyst known to the world as the Sixties, and a musical revolution, flower power, hippies, marijuana, and drugs are carrying the generations—young and old—into a new decade. All the while sixteen-year-old Mary Monroe is caught between being an innocent good girl and an autumn of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.

When her brother offers a solution to her dilemma in the form of a little pill, Mary ignores the rumba in her brain and takes a walk on the wild side. Plunged into popularity and a life she’s only imagined, she meets Michael Covington, the hot newcomer, and she’s instantly drawn in by his less than flawless exterior and bad boy sex appeal. Caught up in the danger and excitement as they drift from party to party, into underground fight clubs, and through a series of drug and alcohol fueled adventures, Mary follows her new crush into a world where young girls are never truly safe from the predators lurking in the shadows and young men are hiding from the harsh reality of war.

Feeling buzzed and as if her life is spinning out of control, Mary is assaulted by an unknown man at a party, and she’s left questioning if the enigmatic Michael is truly her hero or if he is the face behind the terrible attack. With every piece of information Mary learns about Michael, her doubts grow deeper, but with every minute she spends in his presence, so does her love.

With the war and her fear threatening to separate Mary and Michael forever, only the death of a friend, a crushing confession, and her own sensibilities can carry her over the threshold between adolescence and adulthood.

The release date is March 10, 2017
Genre: YA/Coming of Age

M Pax has the newest installment of her Backworlds' series out and it's an awesome continuation of character development with an action-packed plot. Reluctant though he may be, Craze is an awesome hero and his friends show their heroic inner strengths as well. One thing I love about these books is that they truly delve into the horizons of space - with truly varied possiblities for characterization, aliens, and plot twists.

The first shot of a new war echoes through the galaxy. Craze has high hopes for what the alliance with an old enemy, the Foreworlds, will do to defeat a worse enemy, the Quassers.

The test of a highly-advanced weapon, created by the efforts of the alliance, pushes tensions over the brink and kills thousands. To make it worse, the Foreworld ambassador is keeping secrets.

Conventional warfare against the Quassers isn’t working, and if the alliance ends, Craze has become the most hated man in the galaxy for no reason.

With nothing left to lose, Craze sets in motion one last chance for survival.

Hero is another word for D.E.A.D.

Milo James Fowler is a speculative fictioneer whose talent and perserverance put him at the top of my TBR list, but I admit I fell short this last fall when he asked me for a review of his latest short fiction collection. I finally have a review ready - three months late. Go to Goodreads to read that, or just skip it and go read the book:

Horror, humor, and science fiction collide in this collection of weird tales about possible futures, warped present-day realities, and alternate history.

Unreliable narrators run rampant alongside aliens, ghosts, bullies, cannibals, home invaders, heroes, villains, unimaginable creatures, and gifted individuals of all ages.

Paranoia, fear, and bizarre situations abound in these reality-bending stories guaranteed to take you places you've never been.

40 Short Stories - Horror / Science Fiction / Humor

Milo's career is taking flight these days and he works hard as a teacher so his blog has comments turned off, but I highly recommend seeing what he's been up to, like with his Ubooks stories through Black and White Publishing, and all other sorts of hijinks.

William Michael Davidson is new to me, but his publisher requested a review a while back (note that this does coincidentally land near the same time that I mean to review Milo's book and M's book). My review is going to come here as part of the blog hop, but it is already up at Goodreads and Amazon. (I liked it, did you guess?)

One nation, without God...

Colton Pierce apprehends Abberants—those who display symptoms of faith—and quarantines them on a remote island to ensure public safety. Years prior, the government released a genetically-engineered super flu that destroyed the genes believed to be the biological source of spiritual experience in an effort to rid the world of terrorism. As an extractor with the Center for Theological Control, Colton is dedicated to the cause.

But Colton's steadfast commitment is challenged when he learns his own son has been targeted for extraction. An underground militia, the Remnant, agrees to help Colton save his son in exchange for his assistance with their plan to free the Aberrants on the island.

Colton is faced with the most important decision of his life. Remain faithful to the CTC? Or give up everything to save his son?

Chrys Fey has been rocking through the blogsphere with her latest book, Tsunami Crimes. I was part of a blog fest for that last Friday, but thought I would give it another boost here:

Beth and Donovan have come a long way from Hurricane Sabrina and the San Francisco earthquake. Now they are approaching their wedding day and anxiously waiting to promise each other a lifetime of love. The journey down the aisle isn’t smooth, though, as they receive threats from the followers of the notorious criminal, Jackson Storm. They think they’ll be safe in Hawaii, but distance can’t stop these killers. Not even a tsunami can.

There are many more awesome new books out there, and I'm having trouble keeping up!

I'm excited about a book coming out in May from Dancing Lemur Press :

I'm super excited to be working with an amazing group of authors - 12 of us total - and with Dancing Lemur Press for this book
More news to come in weeks ahead!

BTW, on a personal note (and to help make the lack of my comments more understood), I have been ill. I have been to the doctor twice and should visit again today, and the hospital once, have had a few tests and will have more. I will visit and comment, as much as I am able.

This comes, of course, when I just felt like I was getting some momentum going for physical fitness, blogging, and writing.
